Types Of Feed For Broilers

Starter

Broilers are fed with starter from day 1-28 (i.e 4weeks). This type of feed looks a lot like grains of sand and contains high amount of protein. The high amount of protein is because young Broilers require protein in a large amount of about 20percent in their first four weeks

Growers

This is a type of feed that helps the birds grow taller. It gives low fat and contains less protein as compared to starter feeds. Most times farmers usually don't give this type of feeds instead they moves directly from starter to finisher but it is adviced that you feed your birds with this type of feed if you have the intention of keeping your birds in the farm for more than 8weeks. Grower mash is given for just about a week before the introduction of finisher.

Finisher

Finisher mash are given to broilers after feeding them with growers or directly after starter (for those who have the intention of skipping Growers) till they are sold out. This feed helps them gain more weight as they are prepared for sales.
